Let me tell you a short story about Marta. When I met her on one of free ophthalmic trauma courses, she was struggling with simple sutures. I offered her one of our training sets so that she could develop her manual skills. But this was a holiday time, and Marta had other things to think about. She was hesitating- and life goes on. I meet her again 3 months later. This time it was an expensive glaucoma surgery course. Marta was still on the same skill level. She approached me and said „ If I have been practicing since we meet I would be on different level now”.
If you want to progress, you need to practice. If you do not want spend your time on market research, suturing tomatoes or eggs etc., just go for a pack that includes everything you need to start practicing the same day you receive it.
Dedicated to those making first steps in ophthalmic surgery.
How wonderful it would be to finally gain those basic microsurgery moves under control. So you can start „driving somewhere” with this „surgical car”, instead of thinking what your feet should do with pedals. Now you have a complete tool to achieve a certain level of instrument control, and wound and tissue awareness. Everything in one pack, ready to use, almost out of the box.
Take it to work
Some parts of the Set are sterile (blades), other are just clean. They do not contain any biomaterial, so you can take the set to the operating room without biohazard. If your workplace does not support learning in OR, you can exercise at home, under a hobby lamp.
Be your own judge
Exercises in this set are selected in a way which allow you to judge your progress on your own. You will see if capsulorheksis is getting more centered or rounder. Also, you will see if sutures in PKP are symmetric, and of the right size. It is easy to judge.
Stress-free
Since you do not need other people to be with you while practicing, you are the one to decide on how much and how fast you want to practice. Isn’t it a luxury?
